Radiation Decontamination Application for EPA
CSS served as the bridge between computer developers and the scientific community during the creation of a Radiation Decontamination application.

Bringing Technology and Technical Expertise Together to Help First Responders
CSS served as the bridge between computer developers and the scientific community during the creation of a Radiation Decontamination application. We organized and completed three testing sessions with 60 users to gather input on a proposed radiation response software application. We also supported the conversation between EPA and scientific community on how radiological dose is handled and determined. After collecting, organizing, and reviewing the input, we guided the computer programmers to help them update or modify information and correct problems. The resulting app is easily accessible, simple to use, and technically accurate.
Additional Projects

Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs)
We provide site-specific in situ monitoring coupled with predictive modeling, to provide an early warning system to advise health officials and resource managers on how to best focus their efforts to protect health and environment.

Mobilizing Onsite at National Special Security Events
CSS operates and maintains EPA mobile analytical units that travel to support multi-agency security efforts during high profile events that draw large crowds.

Analytical Chemistry Support for the US EPA National Aquatic Resource Survey
CSS chemically analyzes hundreds of water samples collected annually from the US EPA’s National Aquatic Resource Survey (NARS), a critical contribution to the EPA assessments of the condition of the nation’s water bodies.
