Dynamac Awarded EPA Mobile Laboratory Contract
Dynamac Corporation is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER), Office of Emergency Management (OEM) as the new Portable High-throughput Integrated Laboratory Identification System (PHILIS) Operations and Maintenance Support contractor. Supporting Dynamac as PHILIS subcontractors are Battelle Memorial Institute and TestAmerica. This is a Fixed-Rate Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with a potential value of up to $45 million and a period of performance of seven years.
The PHILIS units are mobile laboratories designed to detect Chemical Warfare Agents and Toxic Industrial Chemicals. The PHILIS units provide on-site laboratory capabilities to support EPA’s Environmental Response Laboratory Network to respond to chemical warfare agent attacks. They will be stationed in Erlanger, KY; Edison, NJ; and Castle Rock, CO; and may be moved to any other locations that are deemed fundamental to accomplishing EPA’s mission. In addition, the PHILIS units may participate in EPA exercises, interagency exercises, trans-boundary activities in foreign countries; and may be deployed to Superfund sites to perform environmental analysis at the request of EPA Regional Offices.
Ms. Julia Capri will serve as Dynamac’s Program Manager for this effort. Mr. Doug Britt, Dynamac’s President & COO, stated: “Dynamac is prepared to ensure and maintain the readiness of these critical assets and to deploy them as necessary to safeguard the Nation’s citizens and infrastructure. The scope of the PHILIS contract represents a synthesis of two of our major core capabilities: supporting government science laboratory operations, and providing emergency response and disaster recovery services.”
