U.S. Army-Aberdeen Proving Ground

Since 1994 for various Army programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Dynamac has provided a wide array of environmental support services, including hazardous materials (HM) management, pollution prevention (P2), public outreach, UST/AST, hydrocarbon remediation, wastewater management, storm water, drinking water, industrial discharge, solid waste, and air quality.

To ensure that all HM at APG are known and accounted for, Dynamac operates the APG HazMart, a critical element of the base’s HM management system. Dynamac also developed and currently operates the installation’s Hazardous Inventory Tracking System (HITS), which maintains real-time HM inventories; identifies HM users and locations; and updates central environmental, safety, and fire protection databases.

Our efforts led to greater utility of available HM, resulting in less new HM coming in and less overall waste. Dynamac also is active in pursuing alternative materials to HM where possible, ensuring that less harmful products are being purchased and used at the installation.

Dynamac provides critical support to APG’s P2 programs. We manage on-site technical support staff, incorporating various environmental engineering and compliance initiatives into day-to-day operations. Dynamac scientists drafted the initial APG P2 Plan, and periodically update the Plan to keep abreast of changing conditions and requirements. We also assisted installation personnel in the preparation of policies and guidance designed to reduce pollution sources and promote recycling programs.
